Below are links to important offices and services. Most of the offices listed below offer virtual assistance.

Enroll in Classes

To ensure their academic success, newly admitted international students need to meet with an academic counselor in the International Student Services Office. An academic counselor will assist you in creating an educational plan. Schedule a virtual counseling appointment.

Students can enroll in classes online using the Los Angeles Community College District Student Information System (SIS), also called the student portal. This How to Enroll in a Class video explains the steps of how to search and enroll in classes.

Tuition and Fees

International student applicants are required to pay a one-time US $50 non-refundable application processing fee. The fee is payable through the student portal after your application is submitted and processed. Fees are subject to change without notice. International students are not eligible for federal financial aid.

The tuition rate for international students is currently US $388 per unit. A US $2 Student Representation Fee is charged every semester to provide support of student representation in governmental affairs.

Online international students who live outside the U.S. do not have to pay a Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Processing Fee nor is medical insurance required.

Tuition Due Date

Tuition and fees for the online Pierce Global program must be paid in full no later than one week (7 days) after the start date of the course(s) in which you are enrolled. Although your LACCD student portal may reflect a different due date, you will be dropped from your course(s) if you have an outstanding balance one week after the course(s) has started.

Important Considerations

Enrolling in online courses or degree programs is a major decision. Potential students need to keep several things in mind:

Prospective international students will have to demonstrate a certain level of English proficiency to be admitted. If needed, we offer online ESL courses for incoming students.

If you have an F-1 visa and are currently living in the U.S. there are limitations as to the number of credits you can take online. For questions, please speak to the International Student Counselor.

Pierce College is not able to provide work authorization or visas to students studying outside of the U.S.

Although we closely follow issues related to international education and authorization it is the student’s responsibility to review and understand the requirements in your country of residence and/or any country in which you plan to work. To determine if online degrees are accepted in your country, contact their education department. Some countries or professions do not accept online degrees, so be sure to check with the education department and any relevant professional licensing bodies in your country.

Some countries do not formally recognize foreign online degrees, this is important if you plan to enroll in other educational programs outside the U.S., or if you plan to work for the government in that country or for other potential employers that require specific credentials.

Use the links for each country below to find out if foreign online programs are accepted.
