Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS)
Since 1926, AGS has been a statewide organization of community college societies, with the aim of recognizing and encouraging high scholastic achievement, leadership, and service among community college students. Today there are more than 80 active chapters in California. The name Alpha Gamma Sigma is based on the three Greek letters that comprise the motto of our organization. Alpha is "Arete" meaning Excellence, Gamma is "Gnosis" meaning Knowledge and Sigma is "Sophrosyne" meaning Wisdom. Thus the motto, "Add to good character, knowledge, and judgement." We invite you to take this opportunity to participate in campus life and to acquire the many benefits AGS offers to eligible students.

The club also endorses members to make student films to help them transfer into their desired university. With our annual Film Series that we host throughout Fall and Spring, we bring students together to discuss topics or develop insight of what the film represents. Film Club is a great opportunity for film enthusiasts to come together and to develop a sense of belonging. Film Club will be ready and set to bring action to Pierce's Film Department.
