The visa interview is your opportunity to tell the consular officer about your education plans while in the U.S. Make sure to have a clear idea why you are pursing your education in the U.S. Be prepared to explain why you chose LAPC and if your plans include transferring to a four-year university. You should also be able to explain how your education from the U.S. will help you when you return to your home country.
During your visa interview, a consular officer will determine whether you are qualified to receive a visa. You will need to establish you meet the requirements under U.S. law to receive the visa you are applying for.
Gather and prepare documents as listed on the U.S. Embassy or consulate’s website to bring to your interview. Documents include but are not limited to: Valid passport, DS-160 visa application confirmation page, DS-160 fee receipt, photo, I-901 fee receipt, I-20, evidence of financial support, English proficiency exam and any school records.
