Pierce is currently hosting a series of drop-in, virtual information sessions for the upcoming Bachelor of Science in Biomanufacturing program, which is set to launch in Spring 2026. The sessions are open to current and prospective students, families, educators, and community members who are interested in learning more about the program and its career potential in California’s rapidly growing biotechnology sector. The full schedule of information sessions can be found on the Biomanufacturing Bachelor of Science homepage.
The virtual information sessions provide a valuable opportunity for interested individuals to explore the program in advance, ask questions, and begin planning for admission. The sessions include overviews of the curriculum, guidance on the admissions process, insight into career pathways, and introductions to the faculty and staff leading the program.
The Biomanufacturing BS degree is designed to prepare students for highly skilled careers in biotech, pharmaceutical production, and other advanced manufacturing fields. Combining technical training with industry-aligned coursework, the program offers a direct pathway to employment in roles that support California’s innovation economy. Students will gain hands-on experience with bioprocessing technologies, quality control systems, and regulatory practices commonly used in real-world manufacturing environments.
The information sessions are particularly relevant for students currently studying in the sciences, high school students considering future careers in STEM, adults looking to transition into biotechnology, and counselors or educators supporting career exploration. Attendees will also learn about potential internship and job placement opportunities made possible through partnerships with local and regional biotech employers.
As the first four-year degree program at Pierce College, the Biomanufacturing BS reflects the college’s commitment to expanding workforce-focused educational opportunities and increasing access to high-wage careers. It also supports key goals outlined in the college’s 2022–2026 Strategic Master Plan, including improving student success, meeting regional labor market demands, and advancing equity in higher education.
Please encourage anyone interested to attend an information session or share the opportunity with others who may benefit.
