LAPC HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY SHOWCASE & SYMPOSIUM TO CONVENE INDUSTRY LEADERS TO FORECAST INDUSTRY TRENDS AND TACKLE TALENT GAP

The L.A. Pierce College (LAPC) Hospitality Management Department is proud to announce its inaugural Hospitality Management Showcase & Symposium on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the college’s Building 600. This half-day event will bring together students, educators, and industry leaders for critical discussions aimed at shaping the future of the regional workforce and elevating the customer experience through partnerships that promote educational programs and on-the-job skills training.

The symposium is strategically timed to address the rapid evolution of the hospitality sector, specifically the need for new skill sets required by advancements in artificial intelligence and the demands of personalized experiences. Panels will delve into current industry trends, detailing the importance of mastering essential technical abilities alongside vital soft skills—such as emotional intelligence and adaptability—which are increasingly indispensable for creating authentic human connections.

A standout feature of the event is the caliber of industry expertise present. Panelists will represent companies across diverse segments of the industry, including speakers from Four Seasons Westlake, Universal Studios Hollywood, LA28, Lambda AI, AllSumJobs, SPS Global, Pentaclex, and others. These professionals will share exclusive insights into Hospitality Industry Forecasts, Skills for Success in Hospitality, and Unconventional Pathways into the field.

The event will also include a showcase where the LAPC Hospitality Department in partnership with AllSumJobs will demo a new web-resource designed to streamline the connection between employers and highly-motivated Pierce College students for internships, apprenticeships, and career opportunities. The full schedule ensures robust networking and collaboration throughout the day.
